A Long History of Service

The Divide Fire Department was formed in 1949 when Divide got its first fire truck.  After spending a few years merged with Florissant as the Divide-Florissant Volunteer Fire Department, in 1999 the two departments separated once again. A few years later we adopted our current name, Divide Fire Protection District.

DFPD provides fire, medical, and rescue services to the Divide and its surrounding subdivisions and national forests, as well as mutual aid to surrounding fire districts. These services are provided on a completely volunteer basis by members of our community.
